Island of Dezou

Dezou, a strange name to many people, even the ones that have been close to the island. From what we have seen, the island seems a near perfect hexagon, but very hard to approach. Our captain told us that the crazy currents around the island seem to run away from the island at high speed in all directions.
Contacts on Gaialoran told us that there are days the currents run the other way, but then the currents are extremely hard to navigate. This occurs when Amber is not visible in the sky, so this is three times each year.

Geology

From where we have been on our ship, there is little to say about the size or the Geology of the island. The beach seems to be a bit of pebbly and sandy, quickly rising into rough hewn hills, that grow into sharp peaked mountains. What is behind the mountains is not visible and no rivers seem to run from the island.
The people we have spoken to say that clouds seem to travel around the island, which would explain the lack of rivers. No rain or snow would lead to no rivers...

We would have expected a slightly different geology, as the island of Gaialoran is only twenty miles away and so one would expect a natural formation at least a bit like that one.

Other information

The other information we can provide is all based on rumors and gossip although some old scrolls have been shown to us to prove some points. We are in doubt about the majority of all these claims, but it seems interesting enough to publish these points here.

What is for sure is that the island is nearly impossible to reach, or indeed impossible if the rumors about the switching of the current are not true. Further more the island seems to have the form of a perfect hexagon, indicating a strange past for sure. The last thing that leads us to believe that strange things happen on this island or have happened on this island is that some people have felt magic radiating from the island. This feeling is not like the feeling of active magic, but much more like the remains of an incredible burst of magic that seems to have happened a long time ago.
Some ancient elven scrolls report that once a battle of gods has taken place on the island. These scrolls indicate that this would have been the battle of Moob-Dhane and Irtolie, which battle is also mentioned in ancient story's regarding the formation of Teolin and it's moons. However we can only assume these story's to be incorrect.
A last piece of advise: We know most maps do not show the location of this island and the island seems to be invisible from any distance over five miles, but we have seen it and provide you here with the map of the island, so do not let anyone fool you.

Map of the islands

The map here is but a small version. We suggest you save the larger version that you will get to see when you click on the image. Especially when your goal is to use the map in your further exploration.

If you read the information on the Geology, you will understand that the center of the island is left blank intentionaly. We have not set foot on the island and so we have not been able to chart it either.
