Lockheed L-1011 TriStar - Air Lanka
Air Lanka operated five Lockheed TriStars new from the factory. Two of these were of the short-body TriStar 500 version. Air Lanka started flying in 1979, taking over routes from Air Ceylon. In 1980 it introduced the first TriStar to replace the Boeing 707 on longhaul services. In 1999 the airline changed its name to SriLankan Airlines, which flew the Airbus A330 and A340 as successors of the TriStars. The aircraft on the picture is seen departing Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
