This "Chinese Obelisk" is the Pagode the Chanteloup. The castle that goes with it was torn down in 1823. You can climb it all the way to the top. If you aren't afraid of heights, you will be after a visit to the Pagode. It is a miracle that it hasn't collapsed.
Care for a drink?
The Loire Valley produces some fine wines. A xenophobic French guy guided us through these cellars in the Vouvray area. From the limestone blocks they cut out they made Chenonceau castle (among others). Three million bottles of wine are stored in these caves.
