Syd Barrett

Syd was the charismatic first leader of Pink Floyd, the man who invented their name. He lives in his own dreamworld. When the Floyd get there first success during 1967, he cannot deal with it and went ‘mad’. He is a very sensitive person, more a painter then a (rock) musician. He has made his own style of guitar-music, the sound effects that he invented are unique. In all the way he is very creative.

For me Syd is Enneatype 4 the individualist, the romantic.
Syd has learned to escape a little bit from his romantic dreamworld. In july 2001 the press reports that he has signed with his autograph the first 300 copies of a photographic retrospective. The publisher said: ’Everybody was astounded, he did!’.
