Friday September 14, 2001             to Vancouver

We leave on time, after we drink a cup of coffee and eat a donut. Immediately we took our packed lunch with us. We stopped for a while at Shannon Falls. Unfortunately the waterfall lie in the shadow, so we couldn't make easily a picture Hans in front of a 235-ton Mine Truck at the B.C. Museum of Miningof it. Our second stop was at Brittania Mining Company, a deserted copper mine. It was interesting and instructive. Made some nice pictures of it. Next we are driving a little bit further and then we take a lunch break at the water while the sun is shining which we liked well. After the break we went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver. This is a gigantic high bridge made of steel cables and planks. The bridge was wiggling very much. Next we drove to Vancouver, there was a lot of traffic on the road and Hans got a little stressed. Finally we found our hotel, which was nothing to write home about. At night we had dinner at Boston Pizza in the district Richmond. It was a cozy, relaxed restaurant with good tasting pastes. They even had half portions, so Hans was also happy...
At the hotel we tried to call the ferry, but it failed, so tomorrow we are hoping for the best. We already booked our last hotel for our journey back next thursday. Tomorrow we have to wake up early and also make a phone call to Jos, it's his birthday tomorrow.
