| You've probably read about switching
regions with Philips DVD players using the remote control. There is one major
disadvantage about this. The maximum number of switches is about 25. After
25 switches the DVD players locks the last chosen region. This sucks!
Wouldn't it be nice to have a DVD player which is always able to play DVD's from any region without punchin' the codes each time and where you do not have to worry about the maximum of 25 switches? Well, you've come to the right place. The codes on this page only have to entered once and the player is regionfree forever! How it works, keep on reading, I will explain it to you. There are 2 tyes of hacks, that is a regionhack which works on all Philips DVD player models and a regionhack which only works on the DVD750, DVD755, DVD950, DVD955 and the DVD956. The difference between these hacks is that the last one can be entered using the remote which came with the DVD (750/755/950/955/956) player. If you want to use the first hack, you'll need a 'special' remote. Don't expect the remote from the DVD750/755/950/955/956 to work on other models. It is not some sort of 'magic' remote. The firmware/player combination is the trick to this hack.
