Hay on Wye is famous for it's second hand bookshops.
If you consider a canoe trip on the Wye, it's here you can find  plenty of books to refresh your knowledge.
The landscape downstream Hay-on-Wye.
Around tea-time rain was forecasted. From the "The Scar" still two more hours to paddle to the next campground.
Our camp on the land of Mr. Price. We expected some rain during our trip so we took the "big" tent with us.
The camping service included a lift to the nearest pub for our dinner and delivery of our shopping at the tent next day.
Plenty of time to read our books...
Lunch break at Eaton Bishop.
Although the picture may suggest otherwise, they are a really good paddling team.
The campground near Ross-on-Wye. From here we visited the historical town.
Start of a long loop in the river, Symonds Yat Rock. The high limestone rocks are around the corner.
The rapids near Symonds Yat are very popular for canoeing instruction.
The campsite of Monmouth is located a bit upstream the river Monnow.
The lady of the tourist information was right: no one ever paddle to the campsite from the Wye.
The bus trip back to our car in Hay-on-Wye.
Also a tip for people who normally travel by car, in the bus you are able enjoy the landscape by looking over the hedges along the roads.
