Your heart has been broken to many times
And I wonder couldn't I have given you the life you wanted
Could I have kept you away from pain,
or would I have broken your heart
just the same.
We'll never know,
life has lead you someplace else.
But I'll always remember you

You've been hurt so many times
Life has taken you to so many places
But never one you could call your own
And I wonder could I have given you your home
Would I have always been there for you,
or would I have leaven you alone
We will never know

Now a child has come into your life
The wonders of the world,
the magic in her eyes
Now a new-born life is in your hands
Now your heart has come to rest
And I know you'll be fine
I wish you all the best.
